Some of Commonwealth Edison’s largest
customers are off the electrical grid and producing their own electricity and
selling the overage back to the utility.
This is Distributive Generation,
electricity is generated at thousands of small locations in order to make
electrical grid more reliable and secure.
Many of the Chicago areas high rise
buildings, hospitals and large industrial complexes are off the grid and
generating for Commonwealth Edison (ComED)
The electrical grid is operating at a
greater capacity than it was ever designed. Penalties, load shedding and
distributive generation are some of the ways used to stop the electrical
overload.
Wish you could off the ComED electrical
grid? You can!
